Nixon Visions Foundation
Who We Are
Founded by Brandon and Janine Nixon, the Nixon Visions Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in San Diego and dedicated to supporting individuals, organizations and communities striving to reach their potential.
“We are inspired by those
who make change happen”
Why We Give
Facing our own challenges in life has inspired us to target resources toward initiatives that provide opportunities and support our communities. We’ve seen how the power of education, science, wellness and community can inspire and lead to better outcomes. We strive to light the way by investing in the people and organizations that look to the future and make change happen.
Finding Solutions
for inherited retinal diseases
The Nixon Visions Foundation has a personal interest in raising awareness and finding treatments and cures for rare inherited retinal diseases that cause vision loss and blindness. Our giving supports outreach, advocacy and research in the scientific and patient communities. We strive to understand and develop treatments and cures for rare retinal diseases such as those caused by mutations of the PRPH2 gene, a condition that has led to vision loss in our family.
Supporting a brighter future for young people
We know the many challenges young adults face, especially in households where they are a single parent or the child of a single parent. Sometimes it just takes extra support to set a young person on their path to reaching their goals. We created the Nixon Visions Foundation scholarships to support education and training for young people and adult re-entry.
Our scholarships strive to assist students and trainees from single parent households
They are coordinated by the San Diego Foundation based on financial need and family circumstances
New scholarships are awarded each year to support students through graduation or certification
